Types of Accreditations and Certifications
Institutional Accreditation
Institutional accreditation is a comprehensive evaluation that encompasses all the schools or faculties that make up a university. Unlike programmatic accreditation, it focuses on reviewing and finding opportunities for improvement in processes and organizational structure so that it can design, manage, and support the provision of its educational offerings.
Programmatic Accreditation
Programmatic accreditation is for a program or group of academic programs that belong to the same educational unit. In programmatic accreditation, the details of each program are examined to evaluate compliance with its value proposition and help it improve. Meetings are held with stakeholders individually to obtain specific information regarding each program that initiates the accreditation process.
ITA- EQUAA (Institute-Technology- Accreditation by EQUAA)
ITA-EQUAA is aimed at those educational units of technical or technological training composed of curricula of 4 to 6 academic semesters. They can be from technical or technological institutes or from universities that provide this type of programs.
OI EQUAA (Online Institution Accreditation by EQUAA)
OI EQUAA or Online Institution Accreditation from EQUAA is available for institutions that exclusively provide online or remote programs. Both programmatic and institutional accreditations are offered for this type of organization. The standards are tailored to the provision of education through a purely virtual infrastructure.
SEI Certification
The SEI Certification is a certification that seeks to verify and promote the sustainable development of a higher education institution. This certification is promoted by the UN's PRME and aims to encourage the continuous development and implementation of sustainability actions within the institution based on a phased process of compliance with sustainability indicators.
INVICTA by EQUAA – Soft-Skill Certifiable Program
